Training at Our Gym – What to Expect
When you come down to train at Pure MMA NYC, you can look
forward to meeting great people, having a lot of fun, and learning
some really cool skills.
It is true our MMA gym is definitely a place for people who want
to actually learn martial arts and aren't training simply to get
However, not everyone is as serious about their training as
others, so we have a laid back attitude.
We don't put pressure on any of our students to train at a
certain pace or intensity. Everyone trains at a pace which
suits them best.
For instance, some of our students drink a lot and are often
hungover, so sometimes they'll train for only half a class,
then sit out and watch the rest of it.
Also, some of our students are really out of shape or over-
weight and will often take little breaks throughout the class.
We are not running a boot camp here. The guys who want
to compete know they have to be in tip-top shape or they'll
probably lose their fight – it's as simple as that.
At our gym, it's to each his own. Everyone respects each
others' goals and training preferences. All we ask is that
you are at least trying to learn and improve.
The guys who are involved in MMA competition usually train
more often and at much higher levels of intensity, while the
rest of us usually train at a more relaxed pace.
Regardless, one thing is for sure, no matter who you train
with, they are going to help you get better.
